One of the things I love the most about social med

One of the things I love the most about social media is connecting with others.
I made pizzelles tonight using a recipe that @julydesign shared with me after my mom passed away several months ago. I’ve tried several recipes with mom’s pizzelle iron, but they didn’t turn out nearly as well as these did.

We initially connected through art, and now have another connection through our Italian heritage and cookies-thank you Laura! 😘

Today marks 20 years since my dad’s passing. I

Today marks 20 years since my dad’s passing. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I’ve seen him or heard his voice, talked about current events, or received his advice (sometimes unsolicited!).

This will be the first year as I mark the anniversary of your passing that Mom has joined you. That’s giving me an extra dose of emotion today. She lived as a widow for almost 20 years, and did it with strength and dignity. You told us to take care of her, and we (especially Jen) did, although truth be told, she mostly took care of herself up until the last few years.

Dad, Thank you for all the ways you loved and cared for us. Today I will allow myself tears when I visit yours and mom’s graves.

Thank you Lord for the blessing of being raised by two wonderful parents.
