Who doesn’t love hydrangeas?  I love how long lasting they are, and how their color changes throughout the growing season.
I picked this bouquet from the big hydrangea bush in our front yard, and enjoyed sketching, then painting in watercolor their delicate beauty.

This painting conjures up another special memory for me.  Back in 2016, before I became a full-time artist and was still employed in the medical profession, I held two summer art camps for children- I’ve always loved children’s art and encouraging it.  One of my co-workers brought me an armful of huge, beautiful sunflowers that her husband grew to use.  They were the example for the kids to paint, and this was my painting that I went home and did that evening.
